Prostate Region-Wise Imaging Biomarker Profiles for Risk Stratification and Biochemical Recurrence Prediction

چکیده
Background: Identifying prostate cancer (PCa) patients with a worse prognosis and higher risk of biochemical recurrence (BCR) is essential to guide treatment choices. Here, we aimed identify possible imaging biomarker (perfusion/diffusion + radiomic features) profiles extracted from MRIs that were able discriminate according their or the occurrence BCR 10 years after diagnosis, as well evaluate predictive value without clinical data. Methods: Patients localized PCa receiving neoadjuvant androgen deprivation therapy radiotherapy retrospectively evaluated. Imaging features for each region whole gland. Univariate multivariate analyses conducted. Results: 128 (mean [range] age, 71 [50–83] years) included. Prostate region-wise mainly composed allowed discriminating groups experiencing BCR. Heterogeneity-related increased in Overall, biomarkers retained good ability (AUC values superior 0.725 most cases), which generally improved when data included (particularly evident prediction BCR, AUC ranging 0.841 0.877 combined models sensitivity above 0.960) built per vs. Conclusions: region-aware enable identification retaining variables.

Risk prediction models for biochemical recurrence after radical prostatectomy using prostate-specific antigen and Gleason score
Many computer models for predicting the risk of prostate cancer have been developed including for prediction of biochemical recurrence (BCR). However, models for individual BCR free probability at individual time-points after a BCR free period are rare. Follow-up data from 1656 patients who underwent laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (LRP) were used to develop an artificial neural network (ANN...

PURPOSE To evaluate whether pretreatment magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)/MR spectroscopic imaging (MRSI) findings and molecular markers in surgical specimens correlate with each other and with pretreatment clinical variables (biopsy Gleason score, clinical stage, and prostate-specific antigen level) and whether they contribute incremental value in predicting prostate cancer recurrence. EXPER...
متن کاملBiochemical Recurrence Prediction in High-Risk Prostate Cancer Patients, Following Robot-Assisted Radical Prostatectomy
BACKGROUND High-risk prostate cancer treatment has been controversial. Some high-risk prostate cancer patients fail to respond to radical prostatectomy only. Thus, we aimed to investigate the predictive factors for biochemical recurrence (BCR) and identify patients who could achieve sufficient therapeutic effect by radical prostatectomy only. METHODS Of 264 medical records reviewed, 141 low-i...
متن کاملAssociation between prostate specific antigen change over time and prostate cancer recurrence risk: a joint model
Background: Prostate specific antigen (PSA) is an important biomarker to monitor patients after treated with radiation therapy (RT). The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between the PSA data and prostate cancer recurrence using the joint modeling. Methods: This historical cohort study was performed on 422 prostate cancer patients. Inclusion criteria included: patients with loc...
